The next JCNA Southeast Region Director.

We are excited here at the Jaguar Car Club of North Florida; JCCNF Member and Chief Judge Craig Kerins is on track to become JCNA's Southeast Region Director. Although the election for the position has not been held we have it on good authority that there are no other candidates competing for the position. For those of us who know Craig, and apparent from his Bio below, Craig is a 'Mover and Shaker' and will be an excellent ambassador for all the Southeast Region Jaguar Clubs Affiliated to JCNA. Craig's favorite saying is "i'm all in", which can be translated as 'I will do my utmost to make any challenge I undertake a success'. Craig: Good luck with this new challenge.

JCCNF Member Craig Kerins

Having been a long time member of the Jaguar Club of North America I am now a candidate for Regional Director from the Southeastern Region.

I graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in English Literature. This was followed by a Masters in biology from the University of Richmond and an M.D. from the Medical College of Virginia. Following medical school I did a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh, then moved to Augusta, Georgia courtesy of the United States Army Medical Corp, serving two years as a military surgeon before entering private practice. I stayed in Augusta until retiring thirty seven years later. We still have a home there, but are spending more time these days in Florida on Amelia Island.

I was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and lived there through high school.  I married Mary Eleanor (Mellie) Gibson in 1971 and we have three married daughters who have flown the coop. We moved to Augusta, Georgia in 1978 and have lived there ever since. Community activities have included serving on the Board of Trustees of Augusta Preparatory School.  I was Chairman of their head-of-school search committee, Board Chair for three years. and was the co-chair of a very successful Capital Campaign which funded a Fine Arts Building, a new gymnasium, and a middle school expansion. I was President of the Richmond County Medical Society for two years when we were awarded the Rabun Award for the state’s most productive society. I have also been President of the Georgia Orthopedic Society, and served of a member of the Symphony Orchestra Augusta’s Board of Trustees.

I have always been a car nut. While in practice I had many different new and old cars prior to settling on stylish, elegant Jaguars. My first of many Jaguars was a series III E-Type. I enthusiastically completed three years of “Automotive Technology” at Augusta Tech’s night school while still working, hoping to gain some credentials as a mechanic. This was somewhat successful although I proved more adept in the classroom than in the garage.

I am a long time  active member of the North Georgia Jaguar Club (NGJC), and for the last five years have been their Chief Judge. This culminated in being the Chief Judge of the very successful International Jaguar Festival our club hosted on Lanier Islands near Atlanta last October.

Because of changing priorities, although still a member of the NGJC, I’ve resigned as Chief Judge and become the new Chief Judge of the Jaguar Car Club of North Florida (JCCNF) in Jacksonville. It is my hope to resurrect their program and schedule a concours in the near future.

I am a dedicated member of the Board of Directors of the Coventry Foundation which has made great progress in preserving the history and heritage of these fabulous automobiles.

I would like your support in being elected as a JCNA Southeast Regional Director. I view this as a challenging task to help clubs in our region flourish individually as well as collectively as they start to collaborate on various activities. To remain strong and vibrant our clubs need to continue to celebrate the heritage of these legendary and historic automobiles as well as to embrace the exciting new and varied automobiles currently being produced by a revitalized Jaguar Land Rover.

Although there may not be a competing candidate for the position, as a Signal of Support please vote for Craig when you receive the voting papers from JCNA
